  • BCC receives a complete club set of 96 new Blue Trefor Granite competition level curling stones from Canada Curling Stone 

2019

  • BCC served as host for the Halton-Peel Bonspiel
  • BCC hosted the 2019 CurlON Mixed Doubles Provincial Championships.

2017

  • BCC served as host for the Halton-Peel Bonspiel
  • BCC hosted the inaugural OCA Under-15 Challenge Event

2016

  • BCC hosted the 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts Provincial Women’s Championship

2015

  • Overhead cameras and monitors in the lower lounge and bar area were purchased and installed

2014

  • BCC hosted the 2014 OCA Traveler’s Tankard Challenge Round
  • Dale Curtis of the B.C.C. becomes the Club's sixth member to be President of the O.C.A.

2013

  • The City of Brampton spends $100,000 to renovate bar and upper lounge

2010

  • Michelle Laidlaw becomes a City of Brampton employee with the title of 'Recreation Programmer'  
    • She is responsible for the implementation and recreation program development for the Brampton Curling Club and Memorial Arena
  • Jacquie Hoffer now administers all curling activities for the B.C.C.
  • B.C.C. wins O.C.A. Dominion Senior Women's Provincial Championship  
    • Rink was Vicki Marianschuk, Rose Mary Gowman, Twyla Gilbert, and Dale Curtis (Skip)
    • Coach was Colin Sinclair
  • B.C.C. wins O.C.A. Special Olympics Championship
    • Rink was Carrie Connolly, Therese Micallef, Ray Bazinet and B.J. Hall (Skip)
    • Coach was Tammy King

2009

  • B.C.C. receives $1.46 million infrastructure grant from all three levels of government
    • Some of the improvements to the Club were ice plant improvements
      • Including a new larger compressor), electrical upgrades, re‐paving of parking lot, arena to main floor elevator and new HVAC
  • B.C.C. hires Michelle Laidlaw as its first woman manager for the Curling Club
  • B.C.C. suffers a tremendous loss with the accidental death in the Club of its Manager ‐ Roy Walker
  • B.C.C. wins O.C.A. Special Olympics Championship
    • Rink was Carrie Connolly, Therese Micallef, Ray Bazinet and B.J. Hall (Skip)
    • Coaches were Tammy King and Wes Gordon

2007

  • B.C.C. wins Pepsi Junior Men's O.C.A. Championship  
    • Rink was Jim Clayton, Brodie Tarvit, Mickey Lizmore and Ryan Myler (Skip)
    • Nancy Lizmore and Kirk Ziola were coaches

2005

  • B.C.C. Celebrates its 125th Anniversary
    • The Club holds an Open House with displays of pictures and artifacts from over many years
    • A large crowd attends and views the many displays
    • The head guest speaker was Chris Cuthbert of the CBC sports department and comments were also head from guest speakers Wayne Middaugh and Peter Corner ‐ both of whom were former members
    • Thanks were owed to many volunteers who made the night very successful
    • The B.C.C. later entered a float in the Santa Clause Parade to complete the celebration
    • Other events were held over the year to help celebrate this anniversary

  • B.C.C. wins energizer Toronto and District Ladies Bonspiel, Senior Championship
    • Rink was Gayle Rowett, Ann Jeffrey, Judy Powell and Joan Ewan (Skip)

2002

  • B.C.C. wins O.C.A.'s Mike's Hard Lemonade Senior Men's Championship  
    • Rink was Bob Haw, Greg Ward, Dave Stewart, and Bob Fedosa (Skip)

2001

  • B.C.C. enters into Lease agreement with The City of Brampton for 20 years

1997

  • B.C.C. signs a 5‐year lease with the Peel Agricultural Society
  • Kim Knox becomes the first Woman to be president of the B.C.C.

1996

  • Glen Corner of the B.C.C. becomes the Club's fifth member to be President of the O.C.A.
  • The Men’s and Women’s Board of Directors combine to direct the operation of the B.C.C.
  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. ‐ C.I.B.C. Seniors Championship
    • Rink was Dave Stewart, Steve McDermot, Bob Lichti, and Bob Turcotte (Skip)
  • They also win the C.I.B.C. Canadian Seniors Men's Curling Championship  
    • Rink was Steve McDermot, Bob Lichti, Roy Weigand and Bob Turcotte (Skip)

1992

  • The Peel Agricultural Society sells the Fairgrounds property (except for the Curling Club) to the City of Brampton
  • The B.C.C. unable to buy the Club property, enters into several one year rental agreements with the fair board

1988

  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. Seagrams Five Star Masters Championship
    • Rink was Jack Bryans (Skip), Bruce Carruthers, Ron Vokey and Alex Knox

1987

  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. Jr. Men's Championship  
    • Rink was Wayne Middaugh, Peter Corner, Dave Hannon, Todd Macklin and coach (Drew Macklin)

1986

  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. Pepsi Jr. Mixed Championship
    • The rink was Wayne Middaugh, Karen Middaugh, Jeff Corner and Andrea Kelly

1985

  • B.C.C. wins the North American Life Open Champions Toronto and District Ladies
    • Rink was:  Marg Gibson, Vi Kenefick, Judy Middaugh, and Joan Ewan (Skip)

1984

  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. Mixed Championship
    • Rink was Kim File, Dave Carruthers, Dale Carruthers, and Peter File (Skip)

1983

  • B.C.C. wins the O.C.A. Senior Men's Championship  
    • Rink was Jack Bryans, Bruce Carruthers, Ron Vokey, and Lloyd Mainprize
  • Brampton Bacardi cash spiel started ‐ which replaced the Brampton Flowertown Bonspiel (which started in 1956)

1980

  • B.C.C. celebrates 100 years as a member of the O.C.A.
    • It hosts the O.C.A. provincial playoffs with the Curling held at the Memorial Arena and special functions held at the Curling Club
    • Ed Rattee was Chairman of these events

1977

  • George Metcalfe becomes the fourth B.C.C. member to be President of the O.C.A.
  • B.C.C. member Jack Fraser becomes honourary life member of the O.C.A.

1975

  • B.C.C. Ladies win the Solca "B" Group finals
    • They go on to compete in the Ontario finals in Ottawa
    • Rink of: Bea Lent, Verna Vivian, Jean Kohn, and Mary Watson

1974

  • B.C.C. won the Ontario School Boys Championship
    • The rink was Al Galloway, Tim Morrison, John Lindsay and Peter File

1973

  • B.C.C. won the Ontario Seniors Championship
    • Rink was: Ed Rhodes, Lloyd Chricton, Harry Beecham and Bill Muckart
    • They competed in the Seagram Stone National Play‐offs in Sudbury which was won by Manitoba
  • The B.C.C. was represented in the British Consuls round robin at Orillia by Glen Corner, Jack Bryans, Ron Hoffman, and Doug Reid.
  • The B.C.C. was represented in the Ontario Mixed Rosebowl competition by Larry and Val Neden and Les and Elma Thompson

1972

  • Club hosts the Seagram stone competition for Seniors won by the Guelph C.C.
  • B.C.C. are Solca "C" Group winners
    • They compete in Ontario finals at Schumacher
    • Rink of:  B.Lent, N. Carruthers, S.Wilson and C. McLean

1971

  • B.C.C. won the Men's Ontario Silver Tankard. Rinks of:  
    • Ed Rhodes, Ron Hoffman, Dan Campbell, and Don Carley
    • Bill Dixon, Bill Core, George Dixon and John Fraser
  • B.C.C. Club Ladies won the Ontario Ladies Tankard. Rinks of:
    • Carol McLean, Shirley Wilson, Nora Carruthers and Bea Lent
    • Fran McLean, Geraldine Watt, Ruth Bryans, and Dixie Rhodes
  • This was the first time that both men and ladies Tankards were won by the same Club

1969

  • B.C.C. hosts the Governor‐General's competition and was honoured by the presence of Canada's Governor‐General, the Honourable Roland Michener, who presented the trophy to the winners

1968

  • A $28,000. addition to the Curling Club was made and a beautiful lounge with storage space below was officially opened on February 10th, 1969
  • Also at the official opening was the presentation of plaques to past presidents of the Byng Ave. Club and the current McMurchy Ave. Club
    • There were 26 past Presidents at the event
    • President Chas. Royce and Chairman Roy Taylor officiated on this special night

1966

  • B.C.C. hosts the Ontario British consols competition won by the Joe Gurowka rink from the Dixie C.C.

 1959

  • The Brampton Curling Club enters into a lease agreement with the Peel County Agriculture Society and builds a new 6 sheet Club on McMurchy Ave. S. on the
    Fairgrounds property
    • Membership increases dramatically during the next several years with nearly 350 men and 200 women curlers
    • A.McKinney and J.Fraser helped lead this move

1957

  • B.C.C. Member Chas. Allan becomes honourary life member of the O.C.A.

1956

  • The Flowertown Bonspiel was started, replacing the Laddie Wilson Bonspiel

1952

  • B.C.C. Member W.G. "Laddie" Wilson becomes honourary life member of the O.C.A.
  • Judge Archibald Cochrane becomes the third B.C.C. member to be President of the O.C.A.

1951

  • New curling stones were purchased and an inauguration was held on March 2nd, 1951

1949

  • Ladies curling club started
    • The first president was Charlotte Todd

1948

  • Artificial ice plant was installed
  • Membership hits a new high with 250 members

1945

  • Brampton Curling Club repurchases property on Byng Ave.

1934

  • The Brampton Curling Club was forced to sell property on Byng Ave. due to difficult times
  • The Canadian legion bought the property but leased a portion of it to the B.C.C. who continued to curl there

1922

  • The Brampton Curling Club was runner‐up to the Hamilton Curling Club for the Govenor‐General's trophy

1919

  • The Moses Hunter trophy was put up for Competition
    • The first competition had 30 rinks from various parts of the province and was won by a rink from Lakeview
    • The B.C.C. President (W. Higgins) donated consolation prizes
    • Moses Hunter born in Brampton was a prominent Toronto grain merchant and donated a $300. trophy to encourage his favourite game in his home town.

1916

  • Thos. Thauburn was the second Brampton Curling Club member to be President of the O.C.A.

1915

  • The Brampton Curling Club rinks were runners‐up to the Toronto Curling Club for The Governor‐General's Trophy

1913

  • The Brampton Curling Club won the Governor‐Generals' Trophy. Rinks were:  
    • W.Warr, L.R. Halnan, J.C. Packham, and P.Warr
    • J.P. Allen, T.Thauburn, J.S. Beck, and L.E. Terry

1906

  • Rev R.N. Burns was the first Brampton Curling Club member to be president of the O.C.A.

1905

  • A new curling rink was built on Byng Ave.
    • It was financed by selling stock to members only
    • Stock holders were allowed to vote on Club operations
    • There were 4 sheets of natural ice
    • Cost was $3,000
    • The building fund leader was Rev. R.N. Burns Pastor of Grace Methodist Church
  • The Brampton Curling Club won the Seagram Trophy
    • The rink was John Anthony, Sam McCandless, James Golding and F.Kibbler

1903

  • The Brampton Curling Club were district cup winners
    • Winning rinks of J. Birss, T.H. Shields, Dr. French, W.Dowling, W. Warr, W.Milner, W.G. Wilson and A.Henderson

1899

  • After fire destroyed the rink on George St. Jas. A. Laird erected a "lean to" onto his skating rink located on Nelson St. E, near where the Ronald Apartments now stand (the rink had 3 sheets)

1883

  • First Ontario Championship won by the Brampton Curling Club
    • They won the Governor‐General's Grand Silver Tankard
    • Curlers were:  William Peaker, Adam Morton, Robert Hodgson, James Golding, W.S. Williamson, Robert Hunter, George Adams and J.W. Main

1880

  • Brampton Curling Club registered with the Ontario Curling Association

1879

  • First outside club competition takes place

1876

  • Oct.26, 1876 ‐ First recorded curling club meeting
  • Attending were:

1875

  • Fred Burrows built the first covered rink for interested curlers on George St. near the underground parking
    • There were 2 sheets for curling in the centre and skating on both sides

1870

  • John Haggert brought back the first curling stones from Scotland
    • He had a homemade rink on his haggertlea grounds on George St.

1866

  • First Curling on a open air rink located on property where the Rose Theatre stands using wooden blocks with Iron Handles
    • The Rink was operated by James Packham
