On Saturday, January 29th the club was filled with excitement as Little Rock & Bantam teams from Oakville, North Halton, Niagara Falls, Elmira, Galt, Seaforth, Westmount, Palmerston, & Brampton participated in our annual youth bonspiel. Over $2,000 was raised in support of Brampton's youth program.
It was a great day of friendly competition, food & prizes for all the curlers and proud parents. The raffle table was bursting with 43 items including Maple Leaf hockey tickets donated by Peel Plastics Ltd. (thank you Robert McKee), Raptors basketball tickets donated by Terraprobe (thank you Tim Orpwood) and an iPod Shuffle donated by Mike Ettorre (thank you Cara Howell). Thank you to all the members who also donated prizes for the raffle.
There were two other draws during the day - one for the curlers and the other for the parents. Goldline, Tim Horton's & Dairy Queen made these additional draws possible through their generous support, along with Sidekick Comics Shoppers World.
Shawn & Alice Keba did a great job as Co-chairs, along with the many volunteers who assisted during the bonspiel.
A special thanks to Canadian Tire Shoppers World for their sponsorship of our Little Rocks program this year.
